Pre-course work requirements

Due to the volume of content for "Provide first aid HLTAID001", you will be required to complete online pre-course work. This is an integral and compulsory component of the course. A link to your pre-course work will be emailed to you approximately a week before your practical class.
You will be required to work through the online modules AND theory test in readiness for the course. The online modules work best from a PC or laptop using Chrome if available, rather than an ipad or mobile phone. The theory test will only be accessible if you score at least 90% in each Lesson (learning activity).
You will need to achieve a minimum of 95% in order to receive a completion certificate, which you will need to print and bring to your practical class. You need to allow enough time to work through the lessons and test.

Prerequisite

Access to a computer and the internet is required in order to complete an online theory component.

IMPORTANT - Unique Student Identifier

As part of your enrolment, you will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

You may already have a USI if you have done any nationally recognised training, which could include training at work, completing a first aid course or RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) course, getting a white card, or studying at a TAFE or training organisation.

It is important that you try to find out whether you already have a USI before attempting to create a new one. You should not have more than one USI. To check if you already have a USI, use the ‘Forgotten USI’ link on the USI website at https://www.usi.gov.au/faqs/i-have-forgotten-my-usi/.

What is a USI?

The USI is a reference number made up of ten numbers and letters that:

  • creates a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, from all training providers you undertake recognised training with
  • will give you access to your training records and transcripts
  • can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere
  • is free and easy to create and
  • stays with you for life

Who needs a USI and why?

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment. If you don't have a USI you will not receive your qualification or statement of attainment.

Your USI will give you access to an online record of the training you have done since 1 January 2015. You will also be able to produce a comprehensive transcript of your training. This can be used when applying for a job, seeking a credit transfer or demonstrating pre-requisites when undertaking further training.
