Discovering dance
Description
Experience the benefits of dance with others who love to move. This is a fun way to exercise with a friendly, relaxed group. Explore different dance styles and learn basic and intermediate dance techniques. Each participant is encouraged to care for their own body. Gentle warm-ups and stretches can be adapted to various needs. The focus is to have fun, move safely and encourage fitness, flexibility and strength. Dance is also great for balance and memory.
Each week we use simple dance moves to create a new short routine – and throw in a few challenges too! We use music from a variety of eras and genres e.g. Big band swing, Charleston, Latin American, line dance, waltz, soft shoe shuffle, rock ‘n’ roll, ‘60’s, smooth jazz, gypsy folk and many more.
This activity is open to people aged 15 years and over.
