Pottery for Kids

Description
Make something cute and practical these school holidays - your own handcrafted animal pencil holder. Your teacher, Lize will begin with a skills demonstration. You will then experiment with slab hand building and progress to craving and decorating your pencil holder. These will be glazed inside and out with a simple white glaze. Pieces will be fired in the kiln for collecting approximately two weeks after the school holidays.
This workshop is open to people aged 8-12 yrs. If you are under 18 years, the Child Parental Consent section of the enrolment form must be completed prior to the first session.
Please note we are strict with the age range for this workshop. If your child is under 8 they cannot take this class, even if enrolling with a sibling. Thankyou for your understanding.
Participants have the opportunity to exhibit in our end of year diversARTy exhibition at Eltham Library Gallery to celebrate their achievements with friends and family.

This course workshop will be held at our Eltham centre - 739 Main Road
What to wear/bring
NewspaperEmpty jar or aluminium can (large)
Closed-toe shoes
An old t-shirt or an apron
A water bottle and small snack (no nuts please)
About the Tutor
Lize Myburgh has grown up doing pottery and has always been passionate about the artform. She has experience working as a studio technician and ceramics tutor teaching children and teens at MY Studio and is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT University. Target Audience:
