Description
These social walking groups are a great opportunity to get out and about and stay fit. Organised and run by volunteers, each group has a slightly different focus and membership base. The Walk n Talk group keep up a brisk pace for just under 5km / 1 hour. MEDALS is ideal for power walkers setting out from a range of locations - read on for more details. Bunjil walking group will help you become more familiar with this special reserve in Panton Hill.Talk to us if you'd like to start another walking group!
Walk n Talk (Diamond Creek and Hurstbridge)
This group meets on a Monday and Thursday morning for a walk of around 4.5 km at a brisk pace with plenty of chance to chat. We sometimes supplement the walk with a cuppa at the end!
Monday - Meet outside the Hurstbridge Hub
Thursday - Meet at Diamond Creek - the BBQ shelter near the playground next to the netball carpark in Diamond St.
MEDALS walking group Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Join one of these groups of regular power walkers. Those participating keep themselves fit while also having lots of fun. There's always a coffee at the end of the walk too.
Each walk is between 6 and 8 kms long and takes around an 1 hour to complete. The group rotates through five different walks and always has a starting point where there is ample parking space. Join as a group member and attend as many walks as you wish. All scheduled walk dates fit within regular school terms while holiday walk dates are also confirmed prior to the end of each term.

This activity is for people over 18 years of age. The same flat fee is charged regardless of when people join our walking groups. These walking groups run on volunteer power. The small annual fee contributes to administration costs and training and insurance for volunteers.
We plan carefully to reduce risks for the walking groups by deliberation on walking routes and supporting volunteer coordinators with first aid training and kits. Notwithstanding this, walking group members participate at their own risk. Please consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program. Call 9433 3744 for more information.
Please note, the MEDALs walking group is not suitable for dogs. For the other groups, please consult with the group coordinator.
