Description

Begin your journey with clay in one of our Introduction to Clay courses. Experience new techniques each week in this 10-week workshop that show you the many different ways clay can be used to express your unique creativity. Techniques include:
  • Wheel work
  • Slab pots
  • Pinch pots
  • Coiling

Re participant age:
This workshop activity is open to people aged 18 years and over.

Participants have the opportunity to exhibit in our end of year diversARTy exhibition at Eltham Library Gallery to celebrate their achievements with friends and family.

Clay up to 5kg and firing up to 2kg is included in your course fees for the work you do during the class.

About the Tutors

Tracey Hollis
Tracey has been teaching adults and children pottery in Community Art Centres in Melbourne’s north for nearly 10 years now. Her own work is mainly wheel thrown functional ceramics and she has sold work privately as well as through local businesses and the Stonehouse Gallery in Warrandyte. She completed a degree in Visual Arts majoring in ceramics and drawing in the 1990s in Queensland and has tutored ceramics and drawing on and off over this time.

Kelly Grant 
Kelly is a trained teacher and clay artist with twenty years experience of teaching ceramics to all ages. She has a studio in Eltham where she creates quirky functional tableware, thrown on the wheel and hand built. "It is a joy to introduce others to working creatively with clay and to share with them the endless possibilities and techniques of this medium."


Concession fees

A Concession fee of around 10% off is available to holders of Health Care Cards, Pension concession cards or Veterans Gold cards. 
If you are eligible, please select the concession fee when enrolling and click "calculate discount".
You may be asked to present your Health Care card, Pension concession card or Veterans Gold card for verification when attending a course or activity.
