Seniors Festival

To celebrate Senior's Festival, Living & Learning Nillumbik have teamed up with Bolton Clark to offer the community a series of FREE health and well being information sessions. These sessions are packed with practical advice and strategies to help you get the most out of life. Allow time to stay on for a cuppa and a chat afterwards.

First aid basics
Every year, one third of all accidents occur in the home. Be prepared and join us for a first aid basics session where you'll learn essential skills to handle cuts, burns, fractures and more.

Healthy skin
Your skin changes as you age and is less able to protect and heal itself. Learn how to improve and maintain skin health.

CPR and defib basics
What's more important than knowing how to save a life? Be prepared for an emergency. Learn the basics of resuscitation and how to use a defibrillator.

Master your mind
Looking to improve your memory and reduce stress? This session introduces techniques such as mindfulness and information on recognising the signs of stress and managing hearing health. Don't miss out on this chance to enhance your mental wellbeing!

Healthy brain, healthy body
Did you know that longevity is 30% due to genetics and 70% due to environment and lifestyle? We actually have the ability to choose to age well so join us to learn about the six factors of positive ageing.

Managing sleep and fatigue
Sleep is as vital for life as food or water, and not getting enough sleep can severely affect day-to-day function and lead to fatigue. Learn the signs and causes of fatigue as well as how sleep changes as we age. You'll also receive tips on how to get a better night's sleep.

Falls prevention
One in three people aged over 65 will experience a fall in their lives, amounting to more that 70 percent of all injury hospitalisations. Learn why we fall and how to reduce the risk of falling. Don't miss your chance to fall-proof yourself.

There is no cost for participating in these sessions.
