Sewing and Repurposing Makerspace

Description

Up-cycling, Re-purposing, Mending and Dressmaking Makerspace
Do you have beloved clothes that need growing or shrinking? Visible mending? Patching? Lengthening or shortening? Have you found something at an Op Shop to make into something else? Do you have cushions that need recovering? Would you like to turn your old sheets and jeans into wildlife pouches or bags? Maybe you are inspired to make some cloth masks to save the environment from all the disposable ones.

Bring your sewing basket or your sewing machine, look through the pattern library or make up one of our kits. Share your skills and ideas and learn new ones. Make new friends, have a cuppa and relax for the afternoon.

This activity is open to people aged 18 years and over.

This is a new Makerspace and we would love you to come along and try it out to see if it is for you. We are launching the Makerspace on the 6th September or whenever we get a small group of people enrolled.

Places are available at any time. Please contact us to enquire: 9433 3744

Participants have the opportunity to exhibit in our end of year diversARTy exhibition at Eltham Library Gallery to celebrate their achievements with friends and family.

A trial enrolment fee of $20 will be applicable until the end of the year.
